Radiance aka Rose Sugarlove is a new media visual artist, Vj and designer from Byron Bay now residing in Melbourne, Australia. She works with video and live performance in a range of settings, from contemporary art installations to large scale glitchy vibrant projections at festivals around the world.
Playing with the audio-visual aesthetic and concepts of synaesthesia she has showcased her work events such as Rainbow Serpent Festival (Au), Stereosonic (Au), Vivid (Au), EM15 Contemporary Art Center of Montreal (CA), White Nights (Au), Gertrude Street Projection Festival (Au), Glow Festival (Italy), Glastonbury festival (Uk), Scopitone (France), LPM (Italy), Sonica (Montenegro), AV playground (Austria), Creature Live Art (Lithuania), Polymer Culture Factory (Estonia), Burning Mountain Festival (Switzerland) and The Brisbane Powerhouse (AU).
She is the founder and co-director of Project Pixel, an artist collective that explores video, live performance and audio-visual arts through presenting exhibitions and events. In 2014 Project Pixel will hosted an event as apart of the Melbourne Fringe Festival that showcases the creativity and innovation of artists working in these emerging mediums and in 2015 Project Pixel will curate an AV event as apart of Pause Fest.
Using experimental hybrids of traditional and digital art forms, she explores how contemporary phenomena such as communication technologies and audio-visual space influence our perception of the modern world.
Radiance has collaborated with KILN (Ghostly International), Mr Projectile (Semi Sexual) and Dysphemic.
She has also VJed along side acts such as Gold Panda, Aluna George, Krafty Kuts, BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe, Dousk, An-ten-ae, Illgates, Freq Nasty, Finely Cut Bodies, Seth Troxler & Optimo
